A very special offer to mark the launch of our POSTMARKET.uk online shop.

This stamp error was featured in the UK publications Stamp & Coin Mart (half page editorial) and Stamp Magazine and has been selling elsewhere at prices very much higher than this!

A significant DOUBLE colour shift on a sheet sourced (De La Rue) 1st class Madonna & Child Xmas self-adhesive stamp - this is not a Walsall booklet error as some collectors might assume. The double colour shift has resulted in numerous weird effects.

These effects include the appearance of a baby with three arms (two reaching up and one folded underneath). Both the Madonna and baby have two distinct sets of facial features, the queens head has got a tricolour appearance, the "1st" has a ghost double and rainbow appearance and so it goes on. Only about a dozen sheets (sheets of 50) have been found impacted by this error. That means approximately 600 of these stamps are known to exist which is a tiny number in UK philatelic terms.

Stamp is on original backing paper in Post Office fresh MNH condition.
